That was the idea, to reflect the experience of the war in their eyes :)
Your Spanish is perfect :)

What an impressive portrait! The light and colours are beautiful and the sharpness makes the soldier jump out. Great framing.

Excellent photograph. Very authentic looking.
Would be interested in seeing a Black & White version of this image.
That would definitely make it period in appearance.

This feels so authentic and emotionally driven!
The hat is scuffed up (dents, scrapes..) to make it seem as though he was actually in a war, he is unshaven, he looks weary, and the "pot marks" make him seen rugged and worn. His eyes even have tire lines, with ?dirt? underneath the far eye. It evokes emotion.
I absolutely love this photo.

Incredible job!

We use to perform reenactment events and war games with airsoft weapons. So, the helmet (I'm not sure in this case but maybe is an authentic one)have been used, so the marks you noticed.
For the aspect of the face, a little touch with Topaz Adjust help me to achieve this weary and dramatic air he has :)
Thank you, again, glad you like it :)
Greetings

Very nice, gritty portrait. Also the grittiness gives him a rugged, battle worn, desolate look. The figure has certain "Spaniard" features, but that doesn't mean that he wouldn't pass as a fighter in the German military.

Much more convincing than the photos of Japanese reenactors portraying Finnish WW2 soldiers :)

Perfection would be reenact the 250 Division, composed of Spanish volunteers who fought on the Eastern Front. Fortunately for reenactors, not all Germans were 7 feet tall, blond, blue-eyed guys :D

Thank you very much for your visit and comment :)
